Many manufacturers have begun producing memory foam beds in recent years. This has reduced the retail prices of memory foam beds to drop and become more affordable. While this means that a good number of quality memory foam mattresses have come onto the market, it also means that a greater number of low quality foams have also appeared.
As a general thumb rule, one should avoid the noticeably inexpensive pads or pillows you find in the market. As one can guess, they are generally made of either low density memory foam or layered with other, cheaper foam products. These inexpensive memory foams will neither give the same comfort as higher quality pads but also wear out relatively fast.
So what type of memory foam bed should one look for? But the answer to this would differ individually depending on whether you are looking to buy a memory foam mattress or a memory foam topper pad to put on your existing bed. This is because the memory foam in a mattress is bonded to the “mattress core”, and can’t be replaced,. So it must be both comfortable as well as durable. A topper pad, on the other hand, is cheaper and can be replaced when worn out after a few years (usually 4-5 years with 4 lb density memory foam). So while looking for a memory foam mattress, you need to look for memory foam which is both comfortable and durable. With a topper pad, comfort is the main issue since replacing the memory foam topper is easy.
The memory foam mattress, come in various shapes & sizes for the memory foam beds. Namely, Memory Foam Mattress – Twin Size, Memory Foam Mattress – Full Size, Memory Foam Mattress – King Size, Memory Foam Mattress – Queen Size, Memory Foam Mattress – Cal King Size & Memory Foam Mattress – Twin XL Size.
On an average, the prices of these mattresses are as listed below:

• Memory Foam Mattress – Superb Twin Size – $355.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Supreme Full Size – $609.00

• Memory Foam Mattress – Supreme King Size – $869.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Superb King Size – $699.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Supreme Queen Size – $699.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Superb Queen Size – $589.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Supreme Cal King Size – $919.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Superb Cal King Size – $739.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Supreme Twin XL Size – $475.00
• Memory Foam Mattress – Superb Twin XL Size – $385.00
When purchasing a memory foam mattress, you need to pay more attention to the memory foam density which means you will pay more for denser foam. It simply costs more to make denser foam, relating to more raw materials that go into making a denser substance. But memory foam density alone doesn’t relate to the feel or comfort of memory foam. As a matter of fact, all memory foam density tells you is how much the foam weighs. A five pound density foam mattress simply means that a cubic foot of this material (one cube measuring length, one foot in height and one foot in width) would weigh five pounds.
So, a denser memory foam bed tends to have more of that special memory feel that makes the foam bed unique. For example, two pound memory foam density would not have enough density to give you that quality memory feel you get from the denser memory foams (the medium and high density memory foams). So while looking forward to purchase a memory foam bed, the minimum memory foam density one should look for is the 4 lb density foam for memory foam topper pads and for the memory foam mattress bed with 3.2 and 3.4 lb density foams.
