When purchasing a memory foam mattress, you need to pay more attention to the memory foam density which means you will pay more for denser foam. It simply costs more to make denser foam, relating to more raw materials that go into making a denser substance. But memory foam density alone doesn’t relate to the feel or comfort of memory foam. A five pound density foam mattress simply means that a cubic foot of this material (one cube measuring length, one foot in height and one foot in width) would weigh five pounds.
